Today USCIS posted a considerable increase in processing time through both the Vermont and California Service Centers. Until now, Vermont provided a bit of a reprieve for approximately 50% of our members files.
Please note:
Vermont: is processing 80% of files received within 6 months [this was 3.5 months just yesterday]
California: is processing 80% of files received within 12 months
While Vermont remains the better of the two centers, we now highly recommend premium processing on all files for which there is less than 8 months processing time – and even some of these instances will require premium processing. We will also need to pull files already processed, to advise members who should bump their files to Premium Processing (= an additional $2,805 US). Therefore, your offices may start to receive calls from members.
As we received this information late this morning, we have only updated the information on the website so far. We will have all other related documents amended and back up on the site by tomorrow.
